Colonel Tony Maddison: Certainly. I'm Colonel Tony Maddison, and I serve as the Chief of Staff of the Directorate Overseas Bases. In this role, I oversee a team of just under 100 individuals responsible for managing bases worldwide. My primary responsibility is to have a comprehensive understanding of major issues within our department, act as the central point for incoming questions, redirecting them to the relevant staff, and ensure coherence across the Directorate for efficient operations.

Interviewer: Could you provide more information about the Directorate Overseas Bases and its functions within Strategic Command?

Colonel Tony Maddison: The Directorate Overseas Bases is a small headquarters element situated within Strategic Command. Our focus is on providing support to various overseas bases, ensuring the effective functioning of personnel stationed there and facilitating operational activities. We play a crucial role in coordinating with Defence systems to ensure the supply chain for these bases is efficient and effective.

Interviewer: What are the key responsibilities of the Directorate Overseas Bases?

Colonel Tony Maddison: Our primary responsibilities revolve around supporting personnel stationed at overseas bases, enabling them to carry out their duties effectively. This involves logistical support, ensuring supplies are in place, and addressing operational needs. Additionally, my role as Chief of Staff involves managing inquiries and directing them to the appropriate staff members, creating a cohesive and efficient working environment within the Directorate.
